Agreements
Industrial Research Training agreements (CIFRE in French)
can be used to allow companies and the Ministry of Research to jointly
finance Ph.D. research projects in French university laboratories
which work closely with industry on research themes of particular
interest to a company. Since the creation of these agreements in
1981, 52 research staff have been trained at Saint-Gobain Recherche.
Almost 80% of them have pursued their career in industry, most in
Saint-Gobain Recherche or in subsidiaries of the Saint-Gobain Group.
