The "Interfaces and Glass Surface" laboratory, a French National Research Council (CNRS)/Saint-Gobain joint entity created in 1990, is located on Saint-Gobain Recherche premises. It is governed by a specific agreement which divides the research effort into equal parts between the CNRS and Saint-Gobain.
The laboratory principally performs fundamental research (physics, chemistry, physico-chemistry) on the following themes:
- Thin films and nanostructures
- Heterogeneous reactive materials, and applications to glass melting.
