Methods
When you first join our organization,
you will be incorporated into one of our research departments depending
on your field of competence. You will soon be personally in charge
of one or several studies, usually part of projects on behalf of
internal customers (flat glass, insulation or others). These studies
acquaint you with the different areas of expertise used at Saint-Gobain
and allow you to acquire a very wide-ranging view of our group.
They may cover the performances of existing products, a reduction
of production costs, or preparation for the future by proposing
innovative solutions.
As part of these multi-competence project teams, where research
interacts with marketing and production, you will be given considerable
freedom of action and responsibility.
You will also work on so-called "non-project related" research for
which you will have direct responsibility.
We will also ask you to develop new research themes that you will
then be able to explore yourself in order to discover their merits
and feasibility.
You will be trained in our techniques and our methods of work and
in return we expect a professional, rigorous and creative approach
to your job product. Just look at what our young

We provide you with a full scientific and technical environment
in the form of our external scientific advisers,
as well as our backup services beginning with documentation,
the starting point of your ideas, and continuing through the analysis
unit and the design and engineering office
which will help you with your projects, and finally the patents
office, we hope !
