Working
for Saint-Gobain Recherche is not just being involved in the work
of a major research center, leader in the field of European glass
technology, it is also a shared culture.
Our assignments go beyond our role as a glassmaker. We never cease
to adapt our working methods to an ever-evolving
world. Our scientists do not work alone and often contribute to
multi-expertise projects which include marketing and production
and interface with other research centers in the Saint-Gobain group
as well as with many external and international partners.
Many of them are subsequently integrated in the Saint-Gobain group,
for which Saint-Gobain Recherche constitutes a reservoir
of talented young men and women.
Our main vocation is to find short and medium-term solutions to
the needs expressed by our in-house customers, in both the process
and the product fields.
This research affects all the different technologies used at Saint-Gobain:
not only traditional glassmaking (flat glass, insulation, reinforcement
fibers, bottles and flasks), but also construction materials, industrial
ceramics and abrasives.
We are also the most advanced R & D entity within the Saint-Gobain
group. Part of our job is to ensure that the research facilities
match future needs. This brings about wide-ranging scientific monitoring
in the field of materials and leads to collaboration with many external
partners.
We also contribute to the Saint-Gobain Group innovation processes
and in this respect carry out exploratory research programs to identify
new ideas.
As a central research laboratory, we provide services for all R
& D functions within the Saint-Gobain group and answer needs in
terms of documentation, patents, analyses and expertise.
