R&D Engineer
Activities
Within the Thin Film Department, the Engineer will be integrated in research activities concerning new thin films on glasses for new business applications. The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Ensure the smooth and safe operation of R+D equipment
• Orient technical and scientific work, and propose new solutions to the identified problems
• Undertake bibliographic work and the follow-up of Industrial Property subjects in his domain with the help of the patent department
• Work in close contact with the industrial customers within Saint-Gobain
• Bring short-term assistance to development teams and eventual participation in factory production trials
• Propose new products with different functionalities and improvement of existing products.
The Engineer will be expected to be active in the laboratory, while remaining involved in the scientific and technical orientation of the projects, the maintenance and security of experimental equipment.
Desired profile
• Graduate of a top level university or technical school (PhD in the domain of solid state physics appreciated)
• English, French: technical and scientific literature and discussions; German desired
• Available for short trips in and out of France
