Arnaud Huignard
"After I left the Ecole Nationale Supérieure
de Chimie in Paris, I wrote my thesis on luminescent nanoparticles
at the Ecole Polytechnique's Physics and Condensed Matter
Laboratory. This initial experience confirmed my belief that
I wanted to work in applied research on materials with useful
and concrete functions. As Saint-Gobain provided such an opportunity,
I decided to submit an application.
I am now working on hydrophobic coatings for automobile windshields
to improve wet-weather visibility and safety. Under this
project, at the intersection of chemistry and physics, I work
with academics to solve highly specific scientific problems
and with industrial specialists from the automobile glass
business unit to pinpoint production requirements at the plant.
These two areas provide a particularly enriching experience
with a high learning curve: Saint-Gobain Recherche provides
a crossover between the academic and industrial worlds."
