Sandrine Pozzolo
"After studying for four years at the university in Nancy (France), I enrolled at the Ecole Supérieure de Physique et Chimie Industrielles à Paris (France). I was awarded my engineering degree in 2001, which I followed with a thesis on the scratch resistance of nanocomposites. My professional interests naturally turned to applied research in industry. I wanted to work for a large corporation so that I would have access to a wide variety of topics and subjects, combining fundamental research with manufacturing issues, so that I could then develop a career path within the company. For all these reasons, I was attracted to Saint-Gobain Recherche.
I joined Saint-Gobain under a fixed-term contract working on the development of new abrasives, combining both chemistry, and product characterization. Today, I have an open-ended contract, and my research topics are more focused on construction materials. My work spans the development of partnerships with university laboratories to performing pilot trials at plants." |
