Heterogeneous reactive materials
Un article de Surface du verre et interfaces.
Recently, the lab has launched a new activity on Heterogeneous reactive materials. We aim at developing new research projects on complex and evolving multi-phase systems relevant to the melting of glass, and also the processing of materials used in the building industry. The evolution of bubbles populations or foams in viscous fluids, viscous fluid draining in unsaturated granular media, mixing of heterogeneous viscous fluids or reactive wetting by silicate liquids are among the main topics we intend to cover. Emphasis is put both on the transformation dynamics of these complex systems, and on the determination of their physical properties (e.g. thermal properties, rheology or meso-scale chemical homogeneity). Systems of interest include both industrial materials as well as model systems sharing most relevant properties of the industrial processes.
