Research interests

"Toughning by interfacial structuration of thin layers"

I work in the Thin Films and Nanostructures team, and more specifically on pinning and structuration. I study the toughning of low adhesion structured layers deposited by magnetron.

Increasing the overall toughening of a stack can be achieved by structuration of thin layers. This interfacial structuration is obtained by using a mask of defined geometry during the sputtering of thin films. It creates areas of high toughness, allowing the pinning of interfacial cracks and resulting in higher overall toughness.
